What is a clan?
A clan is an online gaming community where many different players gather to game, talk, etc. Clans generally use ranks to distinguish between members.

What is The Legion?
The Legion is a online gaming community, we do have a hierarchy of leadership, but we like to have fun in a mature, competitive fashion. We offer several games, and departments that members can join, flourish in, get to know other people and grow this community. We also encourage members to get active, stay active and gain rank.

When was The Legion founded?
The Legion was founded in 2001, and was a starcraft community, and re-founded Nov. 18 2005 as a several game community.

Who founded The Legion?
The Legion was first founded in 2001 by Jubalint(L), and then upon his recreation, Darigaz(L) help build it up to the community it is today. Jubalint(L) and Darigaz(L) lead the community and help build it to be the best online gaming community.

Do you support hacks?
No, we do not support hacks! Hacks are PROHIBITED in this clan. If you use a hack, then this is NOT the clan for you. (If you are caught with a hack in this clan you will be demoted or disabled.) Maphack. Stackhack. Winbots, ect. You get the idea. Please view the Code Of Conduct for any other questions

Is The Legion a hacking community?
No! The Legion is not a hacking community

How do I join?
To learn how to join, click How To Join under navigation on the home page. This will take you through a registration process and then finally an application, you will then fill out the application and it will be reviewed by a member of the High Council, please allow up to 48 hrs for the High Council to view your application, and you will be accepted or denied.

What is the High Council?
All members Colonel and above are members of the High Council . The High Council meet often, manage all aspects of the clan, and make executive decisions.

What servers do you play on?
To view our servers click the Servers link under navigation on the home page.

What is a forum?
A forum is a message board system so that users can post and communicate through the web. Different topics are made that users can reply to, and different sections exists for different topics.

How do I post?
To post, you need to first register. After that, simply click any forums topic and click the button that says "New Post". If you cannot post it is likely that that forum is restricted from certain members. You do not need to be a member to post in the General Discussion, however most of the departments and specific games that we sponsor are restricted to only members.

What if I can't post/reply on the forums?
Contact one of the High Council members, they should be able to help or lead you to someone that can offer assistance on the forum.

What is a "PM"?
PM stands for Personal Message or Private Message, everyone upon registering has a PM Box. You can privately talk to other members this way without anyone reading what you have to say. Your PM box can fill up and you will not receive anymore PM's until you empty your PM Box. You can keep PM's as long as you want and they do not expire unless you reach the maximum number of PM's in your box.

How do I achieve different medals?
Be loyal, be friendly, and be active, different medals have different requirements. View the Awards page for more info.

Why can't I log in?
If you cannot log in, it may be because you have been disabled. If you are not disabled and still cannot login, ask a member of the High Council for help. Also it might be because you forgot to add the (L) at the end of your username. **Remember all Login names and Passwords are CASE SENSITIVE so get all your caps right.**

What are ranks?
The more you contribute to the clan, the more you will gain rank. There are many different ways you can contribute to The Legion. Such as recruiting, GFX, web design, staying active in game, and staying active on the forums. For how we list ranks or what are the ranks, view the Rank page in the Site Navigation section.

Where is the Site Navigation Section?
There is two actually, one with is located right under our site's banner on, if that is not what you are looking for try the Site Navigation and that is located on the left side just underneath the where it says The Legion Gamming Clan on the home page.

Can someone promote me?
Yes and No. The ranks up to a Sergeant are auto promote, Staff Sergeant and above have to be done by a High Council member. For you to be an officer you have to be a Staff Sergeant and apply for an officer rank, and that has to be approved by the High Council. For Officers, there is an auto promote feature up to a Major. However, any promotions can be made by the High Council.

What is autopromotion?
The auto promotion system, is designed so you can work yourself up in rank up to a Sergeant without the High Council having to approve your promotion. The Auto Promotion system works like this: Auto promotions in Enlisted ranks: Recruit -> Private = Manual Promotion from High Council -> Private -> Private First class = 8 days & 8 Posts -> Private First Class -> Specialist = 12 Days & 12 Posts -> Specialist -> Sergeant = 15 Days & 15 Posts -> Sergeant -> Staff Sergeant = 20 Days & 20 Posts -> Staff Sergeant -> Sergeant First Class = 30 Days & 35 Posts -> Sergeant First Class -> Master Sergeant = 50 Days & 60 Posts -> Sergeant Major -> Second Lieutenant = Officer Application First Sergeant -> Sergeant Major = Nomination by Officers Master Sergeant -> First Sergeant = 70 Days & 80 Posts Officers Second Lieutenant -> First Lieutenant = 120 Days & 300 posts -> First Lieutenant -> Captain = 150 Days & 500 Posts -> Captain -> Major = 250 Days & 750 Posts -> Above Major = Promotion by High Council

Why am I disabled?
Simply talk to the High Council member, that disabled you. They will tell you why you got disabled and may, if they wish to do so re-enable you. Remember, if you fail to log in at least once for 10 days you will be automatically disabled. You can request to go inactive due to a trip/family issues etc. by contacting any High Council member. BE SURE to contact that same member when you return to get your prior rank back.

How do I get banned?
Please make sure you read the Code of Conduct and Constitution for reasons on how not to get banned. If you did get banned it was probably for something that goes against our Constitution. Please contact any High Council Member if you have further questions on how you got banned on the forums. If you get banned from the servers please contact the General that is charge of that division.

What does the (L) stand for?
(L) stands for The Legion. It is the tag we have used traditionally to represent ourselves as members of TL.

Do I have to wear a tag?
Yes. All members are expected to have a tag connected to their username when on the website. All members are also expected to where the tag in-game. Some games, such as World Of Warcraft, do not require a tag due to in-game guild/clan features.

What are awards?
Awards are medals/Ribbons that can be awarded to Members of The Legion. You can recieve different Awards by contributing to the clan through recruitment, time served, GFX, web contribution, and much more.

Will I get Bot Access when i join?
No, only 2nd LT and higher ranks will get access on operator/moderation bots

Does The Legion compete in leagues?
Yes, we do allow formation of teams in our divisions. They participate in CAL, and TWL. Please contact a Division Leader for more information about a formation of a team. Some of the teams are "walk on" teams other teams you have to try out for. Spots are limited though, so make sure you join. Our goal for our teams is to get into CAL and become well known for our competitive teams.

What is Ventrilo or Vent?
Ventrilo is a program that we use for members to communicate with each other. You must have a microphone to use this program. We encourage all members to have Ventrilo and use it on a frequent basis. The teams that participate in Cal or TWL, highly recommend getting vent.. It’s a free program, and if you have problems with the problem please contact a member of the High Council or someone in the Division you are in.

Is the Legion a community supported mental ward?
No. Go to MySpace. We may be crazy, but it is awfully hard to type in a straight jacket.

Can I vent and transgress my antisocial personality?
No. Go to YouTube. We like to have a drama free forum board, however if you do need to talk simply contact someone and talk to them.

Can I replace my life with The Legion?
No. Get one, its Free (for now). We encourage you to have a life outside The Legion, and we ask that you don't take us TOO SERIOUSLY, and remember its just an online community of friends.

Do the ranks make one more important than others?
No. They are imaginary. However, the higher the rank, the more responsibility to you have to run and maintain the Legion.

Does popularity = value in The Legion?
No. Exposure = Popularity. Contribution = Value.

Is The Legion a place for only serious adults or silly kids?
Both and neither. We value serious people and mature people, we have places for the serious gamers such as the competitive teams, however we ask that you do not make this your life and start stalking the High Council members. We also value the silly kids that join our ranks and liven up the place we also have places for the not so serious gamers, however we ask that you be mature (or immature in a fun silly fashion) and not cause too much trouble.

How do I tell if a server is down?
First and foremost by going into the game and not being able to connect to our servers. Secondly, you can check the status of the servers via the Server page in the site navigation section.

Who do I talk to about the Servers being down?
Please contact your division commander, if the Division Commander is not around please contact White Castle(L) or the next HC Member you come in contact with and they will help you with your needs.

Who do I talk to about the website design, broken links, bugs, etc?
Please contact White Castle(L) or ChuckSkyline(L) and they will help you with all of your website needs. If you would like to make a suggestion the GFX department may be of some help.

Who do I talk to about Administration issues, punishments, disciplines, hacking issues, ETC
Please contact Chuckskyline(L) and/or White Castle(L) or any members of the Military Police Department, for issues such as these. If you have a problem with another member one of these three will help you with the issue.

Who is in charge?
White Castle(L) Who is the General of the Army/Commander Chuckskyline(L)Who is the General/Co-Commander. The High Council also helps lead the clan, if you can not find White Castle(L) or Chuckskyline(L) it would be wise to contact another High Council member.

Are we a Hostile Clan?
No and Yes. We do not go looking for fights however if attacked we will seek justice in our favor.

How do I donate?
Simply click on the Donate Now watermark on the top left of your screen or you can click the link just underneath our banner and choose a tier system that best fits our needs.

I have a server can I donate it to The Legion?
Sure, however we have a dedicated box which hosts all our servers and website, while we never turn down another server please note that you might not be in control of the server while The Legion takes it over. We encourage you just to donate money instead of servers to us.

Whom do I ask about Donation problems or concerns?
Please contact WhiteCastle(L) via PM, please allow 72 hours for him to contact you back, if it is urgent and he has not contacted you back in 24 hours, please contact or an HC member to contact WhiteCastle(L) directly.

How do I get "Gifs" in my postbit?
Firstly a gif is a image that moves around or has some sort of animation, secondly your postbit, is the picture you select that is right underneath your username in your profile or when you post something. To get a gif image you have to have High Council approval to change some settings in your profile so you can select a gif image.

How do I get admin for the servers?
Well, this applies to any servers that we have and all of the divisions that we currently have. Each division has a different way of gaining admin for the servers, usually from low to high admin ranging in how long the member has been in the clan, how mature they are, and rank. This will be done by an application process and will be the Division commander's decision. Please consult your division commander for admin questions. Another option is to donate, each donation tier grants you a certain level of admin powers for your desired server you wish to operate. In the case that admin abuse happens, you will be suspended of your admin.

What are departments?
Departments are like divisions, only there is no gaming involved and each department deals with an aspect of the website. The GFX department for example works with the graphics of the clan, while the Military Police department deals with policing the website. Each department has a specific role that they deal within the website. Please contact the department's leader for specific questions.

How do I join a department?
To join a department you must be an officer or above. You can join more than on department. Some departments will accept you as a higher ranking enlisted, such as the GFX department. To join the department you must apply for it in the child forum supplied under the main departments thread and await acceptance by the department leader.

Who are, and what are the Retired Founder/Retired GOTA/Honorary Member ranks?
Retired Founder This honorary rank is held by Jubalint(L) and Darigaz(L), who built the first foundations of The Legion in 2001, and re-founded The Legion (after temporary collapse in 2004). Both members retired in 2008. Retired GOTA This rank is for any GOTA that has retired while in service. These members are, Cnote(L), Hellspawn(L) and Chuckskyline(L) Honorary Members Honorary Members are members who have been in TL for 2 years, hand picked by the HC, who have greatly impacted TL, and have not resigned but are inactive. These Members are WarChief(L), Hubble(L), Sleven(L) and Kriebel(L)
