I don't have any problems with the site lagging or anything either. It could be your web browser, cause it was slow for me when I was using Safari, but everything is fine with IE or Firefox.

About the smilies: I'm not sure if that's a good idea or not. I mean, people are having problems with the forums/site lagging enough as it is. I don't think having animated smilies would help that problem at all.

we don't necessarily need animated ones, i think the more important point he was trying to illustrate is the fact that the current smilies are matted with white, and that stands out in contrast against our dark forums. he recommended black matted ones. not the biggest deal but, for aesthetic it's still a valid point.

and i really don't ever encounter any lag issues with the site.
