We have two situations stemming from a man who drinks early.

The person who claims that people who look down on alcohol or it's drinkers at any time is naive, were brought up wrong, and therefore have invalid opinions on the subject.

And the person who claims that drinking alcohol early isn't just a potential sign of alcoholism but IS alcoholism and the person clearly has no self-control, has a problem, needs to be fixed, and is wrong.

And I asked if both views were just as poor and close-minded.
Either one has the potential for being right and wrong, but it doesn't justify the reasoning.

I wouldn't say either has a possibility of being right/wrong. They are based on subjective variables. They are nothing more then opinions.

I'm not fighting you, both are closed minded.

My initial point of contention was a lack of relativism on Karma's part, which is something I have SERIOUS problems with. There are no right or wrong ideas, no right or wrong cultures, or even opinions. Merely different ones. That is ultimately the point I was trying to make, where the actual argument's side wasn't even a factor, but rather the vehicle for the implication of these objective realities regarding interpretation.

Haha that's what one of my friends said.

Regarding the whole "drinking after racquetball" thing, I would play racquetball back home everyday at around 5pm and after that I'd either hit the gym or go to the cafeteria area and have a beer or two. I don't usually wake up in the morning and open a beer or anything.
